Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a diverse cast of characters, and a gripping narrative featuring angels, evil spirits, and sinister influences growing in strength within the city.
Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The third episode finished on a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the central cast to begin their independent quest, distinct from the other two tables.
This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
With a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven narrative style where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the party knows exactly where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the story’s plot—exploited The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking the character, and stealing all the powerful objects to auction.
Casimir then cleared his obligations and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the urban center, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each member has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, wants retribution.
- The adventurer has experience in the northern area and advises that it is a hostile environment.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his house’s orders to kill Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- Yet, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could help the team reach areas they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that control Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally too risky:
- Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The target is marked for death by House Halovar.
This results in them no alternative but to head to Timmony in search of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we find out that the Soldiers table will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight cast members to form the Seekers and Schemers groups.
Audiences can look forward to learning which characters will be where in the story’s last Overture episode, streaming live on October 24.
